Nairn

My work was included in the Creating Our Planet Exhibition for Glasgow Goes Green Festival hosted by Alchemy Experiment in Glasgow, February 2022. The Creating Our Planet show was re-ran at Box Hub in Glasgow in April 2022. Statement for the exhibition: With this series, taken in the Cairngorms National Park, I aimed to capture the sustaining power of nature. Moments such as these, to me, are important reminders of the value of the land which we still have and the impermanent state of our environment. As a female photographer, I find translating the landscape into a physical photograph a grounding exercise reflecting on our place within the land. I am interested in how this reflection can be extended through the shared experience of these scenes. We can use values learnt from shared experiences in nature to build a more just world, removed from exploitation and fuelled by community.
